My Strengths

I have always had great distance control with my irons, and that has really helped make my misses less severe than they could be. I consider myself a great driver of the ball, and generate a lot of power for my size. While I am not as good as I want to be around the green, I hole a considerable amount of chips, and always make a good effort no matter the lie or conditions. Chipping has always been natural to me, and I do a good job judging where the ball needs to land. I do a good job of flighting the ball, so I can keep it out of the wind, or let it land softly on the green. I also have a really smooth tempo, and transition into the slot really well. Over time, I have built a really consistent putting stroke that I can lean on in tournaments. Because of this, I do not three putt very often at all, and make a high percentage of all my shorter putts.

My Weaknesses

I do not make as many putts from 15-25 feet as I would like, and I am not consistent on longer chips where I can't see my landing spot. I would also like to improve the short yardage control on my wedges. Specifically from 60 yards in. I have also had issues gaining comfort in my alignment; I have recently put a strong focus on fixing this, and using an array of alignment stick positions, have started to gain confidence in that part of my game. I would also like to have more experience and pratice working with the elements. My judgement when playing with a strong wind is not as accurate as I want it to be, and playing in the rain can throw me off. I'm currently working on getting my core more engaged, as well as getting rid of the lateral movement with my head. Doing those will not only give me more power, but consistency as well.

My Practice Routine

Every day before I hit the golf couse, I go through a stretching routine that I learned while working with a TPI certified instructor in Ponte Vedra. This has exponentially helped my leg and hip flexibility. Once on the golf course I start on the chipping green where I work on the chips I am most uncomfortable with. Afterwards I hit knockdown shots with a few different wedges working my way up to full swings. Once I've made it to that point. I pick one or two clubs and focus on them for the day. Hitting draws and fades, and practicing flighting the ball different ways. I finish any practice session off at the putting green. I especially like using a putting gate and an alignment rod to assist in consistency. Recently I have started to incorporate a lag putting drill to improve my touch, and make more of the putts outside my usual range.
